Edouard Beaudry is a Vancouver based artist and art teacher who specializes in drawing and is fascinated with portraiture as well as the human figure. He has a cegep degree in Fine arts as well as a Painting and drawing major from Concordia University in Montreal. Edouard teaches a class called Sketching and Drawing at the Roundhouse community centre where all adults are welcome, but where there is a special place for seniors. His dream is to make arts accessible to everyone and he is all too aware of how community involvement benefits seniors by encouraging their personal growth thus empowering this population. He also teaches the art of Cartooning to children at Marpole Oakridge Community Centre and at the West End Community Centre. He feels strongly about drawing because it is accessible as one can do it anywhere with minimal cost and materials. Drawing is the foundation to all other forms of visual arts such as painting and sculpture. It fine tunes the perception we have of the world around us and gives us the means to represent it while building intuition and self-confidence. He is also a prominent fitness instructor who works at many different community centres around Vancouver and teaches a wide variety of classes from spinning to body conditioning. He specializes in fitness classes for seniors who may be frail and require adapted fitness or classes catering to people with dementia..
